I recently had the opportunity to try Bojangles Chicken, a southern-style restaurant chain in Marion. The first thing you will notice about this restaurant is that it is the only one in the entire state of Illinois. It is the only Bojangles Chicken in the entire midwest, which they use as a big selling point.

First impressions for any resturaunt are important, and Bojangles does a very good job with this. The service is great with short waiting times as well as friendly staff. They also say, “It’s Bo Time!” before you order which gets a bonus point from me. One problem I have with the restaurant is it is not in an ideal location. It is on the outskirts of town, and it is difficult to get to.  I even got lost along the way.   

The second most important thing about a quality restaurant is the presentation. Honestly, who would want to eat something that doesn’t look good, right? This is another aspect that Bojangles got right. Upon first glance, the food looks very good, fresh, and made to order. I ordered the chicken sandwich, and I must say I was very impressed. The only problem I encountered was the almost ice-cold fries, but that was the only bad thing that could have easily been prevented by the staff.   

The most important thing for any restaurant is how the food tastes. I can confidently say that Bojangles has one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. It’s not over-fried, and if you are big on texture, it is almost perfect. Combining the polite service and the equally great food, I give Bojangles Chicken in Marion an 8/10. The only true drawback is the location and how it is possible to get lost on the way. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try something new and enjoy good quality food.
