Helping to kickoff both the school year, as well as our fall season of sports, the “Meet the Tigers” event helped bring fun, action, and food to all students, teachers, and parents alike.  Meet the Tigers gave the community a showcase of what the Friday night lights had to offer, with a scrimmage football game, performances from the cheer and flag teams, as well as a selection of well known songs from the marching band.

This newly introduced idea was a big hit, and it only makes sense that they bring it back. This way, we can showcase our winter athletes and give them a spotlight that they deserve.  The winter version of our Tiger showcase will be a bit different, starting off with dinner and a silent auction, as well as an autograph signing.  Following this is the team introductions. Some featured teams include girls and Boys Basketball, Math Team, HOSA, FBLA, Bowling, and Boys Golf.

In addition to these activities, there will also be some showcases from the band, as well as the Cheer and Dance teams.  There will then be a period of recognition for both the boys and girls J/V basketball teams, and the fans will be able to watch a ten minute warmup by these talented athletes.  The band will play our school song, and the Varsity basketball teams will participate in a three point contest before the game.

This will lead us to the main attraction, the Alumni scrimmage basketball game.  The game will be a fun, action filled exhibition, with four, ten minute running clock quarters, as well as a five minute “rainbow shot” halftime event. Both the school and community are excited to see how this game plays out, and which side comes away with the bragging rights win.

With all of these exciting new opportunities and events for our school and community coming to fruition, it will be interesting to see how this new event turns out, and if it will stick around as a new tradition for many years to come.
