Focus On What Matters

FCCLA or family carrier, and community leaders of America is the only club/class that focuses primarily on the family.  Students can help out in Tiger Paws, an early learning program that gives students an opportunity to learn while they help teach a younger crowd or participate in the class. Mrs. George and Mrs. Ford teach the classes related to it and both sponsor different sections of the club.  Each student gets to work with a younger student in the class, in a way, mentor them.  The class teaches the older bunch of students how to work with the kids and prepares the younger crowd for kindergarten.

The students also get a chance to be creative; Tiger Paws is always up to something new to keep the kids entertained and learning.  Everything from crafts to games so it’s not only a learning experience, but a lot of fun for everyone involved, as well.

The organization also gives students the opportunity to attend  leadership conferences throughout the year where the students get together and practice team building, as well as learn about what truly means for them to be a leader at home, in the family and in the world.  The class/club attended state at Springfield in April.

When asked what her favorite part of FCCLA was senior and club/class member,  Kaytlon Richardson said, “It allows us to come together, students from all different schools and walks of life to participate in events that will help us prepare for our future.”
