Taylor Swift’s latest album, released on April 19th, 2024, is a tribute to a significant past relationship, offering a fresh perspective on her musical journey.

This album is filled with deep cuts and meaningful lyrics. This album includes 31 songs. Ryleigh Pitman states, “There are 31 songs, which is more than usual for a single album, and it’s boring. Most of her songs have a lot of depth, which I like, but it’s almost like she repeats concepts from her past songs. It’s a good album with meaningful songs, but it’s just a bit boring!”

Taylor Swift has gained attention over the past year, and she had a chance to make one of her best albums; however, this is not her best.

Music preferences are subjective, and just because I do not like an album doesn’t mean someone else can’t enjoy listening to it. Emmarie Bires feels as though this is one of her new favorite albums. “This is one of my new favorite albums, just because you can relate the songs to someone. I have some “skip” songs, but ever since it’s been out, I have ones I can’t stop listening to.”

There is so much content, and little of it sticks out to me. All 31 songs have the same speed and idea. The album is languid and long. The album itself is no doubt long.

Opinions on the album vary, as expected with any artistic creation. A survey among my peers at Herrin High School revealed a split response, with 57.6% not considering the album ‘lyrically genius ‘and 42.4% holding the opposite view. Similarly, 77.4% did not rank this as their favorite Taylor Swift album, showcasing its diversity.

Taylor Swift is unapologetically the most entertaining music artist right now. The “Swifties” are loyal fans. There is no denying that she is a good music artist, considering the awards she has won. Taylor Swift has won 14 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, 40 American Music Awards, 39 Billboard Music Awards, and 23 MTV Music Video Awards.

Music is a matter of personal taste, and everyone has their preferences. It’s okay if some people don’t enjoy The Tortured Poets Department Album, as it’s not for everyone. However, others may find it to be a great work of art. What matters is that we respect each other’s choices and opinions regarding music or any other art form.
