Herrin High School Journalism competed in the IHSA Journalism sectional on April 6th.  Tiger journalists had been preparing for the competition in the weeks leading up to the competition.  The sectional this year had 14 very talented schools competing; with Herrin HIgh School being one of them.  Tiger journalists were determined to show off their very best at the competition and that’s exactly what they did.  The Tiger journalists grabbed a total of eight top-three finishes and the other 10 competitors placed in the top five of their events.  The eight students who placed top three in their events will be eligible to compete in the state competition for journalism. The team as a whole finished in 2nd place with a total of 63 points.  Wish the Herrin Tiger Journalism class the best of luck as they prepare for the state competition in the coming weeks.
