This play is directed by Ms. Pullum and Ms. Wilson.  They have been in charge of directing plays for quite a while, which just shows how they love and appreciate what they do. Without the hard work of the directors and this lovely cast, there would be no play to look forward to.

The play is about a mysterious talking groundhog stealing young Ellie’s homework, she takes off down a hole after it and finds herself in a place where nothing is as it seems in the Land of Rejected Fairy Tale Characters. In this land, Ellie meets a crazy assortment of misfits who were cut from the fairy tales we all know and love.

Many seniors are emotional about this being their last high school play, Jaci Bethel expressed “These four years went by a lot faster than I thought, even though I’ve only done drama club for two.” When asked what she will miss the most about it, she said  “I will miss the people. It’s so nice to be around people you love doing something you love, and school programs like drama club allow me to experience that”.

When asked the same thing, Kat Weaver(12) said that it would be very emotional for her and stated “ I am grateful for the opportunity to share the stage with my friends.” The seniors will be missed with their extravagant plays and their amazing acting skills. They make their school extremely proud.

For these seniors, the play was meant for 5th graders. This lets these seniors take a trip in the past before retiring their playbooks for the next generation.

This will be the play of the year with usually an outcome of a full house; these actors/ actresses have their work cut out for them! The play will be at the Herrin Civic Center on February 29th, and March 1st. Tickets are sold at the door starting 30 minutes before the curtain goes up. It is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and kids 5 and under are free. Come and support the Drama club.
