Herrin’s Top Tennis Duo Makes Great Push For The State Title
Recently we sat down with Keegan Weber and Michael Cagle, who not long ago became All-State players at the IHSA State Tennis Tournament. They placed 3rd overall, but ultimately lost to the tournament champs, Chicago Latin.
When asked about how they felt when they found out they were going to be in the tournament, Keegan said, “I was excited because we had worked super hard for it.”
Even after a good performance in the tournament, Michael’s plans for next year are to go farther than they did last year.
The duo plans to continue preparation for next year’s regular season, as well as for tournaments, and push for a state title. Keegan and Michael said their toughest opponents throughout the duration of the tournament were the players from Chicago Latin, who were the overall winners of the tournament.
Our Herrin duo should be proud of their performance in the IHSA state tournament, as they will only continue to go farther, and become even better players throughout the next two years. We wish them the best of luck this season, and we will continue our support for them as they push for the state championship.
