With the Herrin Volleyball Team in full action right now, the Journalism class wants to spotlight the seniors for their last year of HHS sports.

Taylor Cornelius, senior, has played volleyball since her 6th grade year making this her 7th year playing. When asked about mentors she had two specific people in mind. She said, “My twin cousins Whitney and Gabby Woodis were two big influences in my life when it comes to volleyball.  They were very successful at the sport and I enjoyed watching them play, and knew I wanted to do it when I was older.” Taylor said she knew she fell in love with the sport her sophomore year, when she started playing an important role on the varsity team. One of her favorite parts she said was spending time with the people who participated with her, making it a more memorable sport. She also had some words of wisdom for new, incoming players thinking about joining the team including, “Give it a chance, I promise you will love it.” Taylor said she does not plan to continue playing volleyball after high school, so she is making the most out of her senior year, as a Herrin Tiger Volleyball player.
