Boys Bowling Prepares for Takeoff
The Boys Bowling team is coached by Barry Hubbard, and the team has a whopping 13 bowlers this season. According to senior Tyler Dunfee, the revamped team is “the most physically and statistically built team we have ever had in Herrin bowling history.”
Tryouts took place on October 28 and 29. During tryouts, it became apparent to those who have been on the team before that this upcoming season was going to be special. “We feel positive and we have good feelings about this season,” states senior Ethan Zoller.
The boys’ first tournament will take place at home on November 9. At this tournament, 16 teams in total with show up to show out. “Our main goal this year is the same as last year. The goal is always to make it to State as a team,” says senior, Dylon Vancil who went on to say, “and this year, we have what it takes to do that.”
