Gunter Gotha (10) and Matthew Brandon (11) show off their catches at the end of a long day on the lake.

The fishing team has dominated the high school fishing community recently. The team has placed in the last five tournaments and their progress this season is astounding.

In separate competitions at the Lake of Egypt, Matthew Brandon (11) and Hayden Mofield (11) won first place with 13.5 lbs, Brandon and Reice Hartline (11) won first place with 16.0 lbs, Brandon and Gunter Gosha (10) won first place with 14.76 lbs, and again with 20.5 lbs, and won third place with 13.6 lbs at Clinton Lake.

Brandon says that he believes our fishing team is one of the “best programs in the area”. The team practices every day and everyone on the team is dedicated and focused on fishing entirely.

“Winning the past four tournaments in a row and placing third on April 13 really gives me a lot of hope for our team,” states Brandon, “losing our seniors will take a toll on the team, but we will do just as amazing next year”.
