The last day of school before Thanksgiving Break is a day Herrin High students look forward to each year. There is an annual Dodgeball tournament held as a reward to Herrin High students for all their hard work. This year we had twelve teams, each consisting of ten players.

Over half the school participated, not just on the floor, but on the sidelines as well.

Every year there is one team of all teachers, so if you’ve been wanting to get your frustration out on that teacher that gave you a bad grade or vise versa, the Dodgeball tournament is a great way to do so! This year’s championship game was intense. The last two remaining teams were “Super Cool” and “Tiger Pride”. Each fought their way through the bracket in hopes of being a part of the final battle. After the long, tense match, a winner was born. “Super Cool” snagged first place, thanks to ten great players: Noah Gusewelle, Myles Horn, Anthony Bowling, Dominick Intravaia, Clay Allen, Logan Craft, Dylan Reagan, Austin Williamson, Jase Haas, and Alex Gottschalk.

All other teams held great sportsmanship throughout, and everyone had a fun time regardless of what team they were on.

And once again, HHS kicked off their Thanksgiving Day break in style!
