I first met Wyatt at the junior high dances. Coming from OLMC, I didn’t know many people there, but going to those dances, Wyatt was one person I knew. Wyatt is an optimist. He always finds the positive in every situation. You know, he’s gone through a lot, but you’ve never seen him down or upset. He always has a smile on his face and is always in a great mood. Wyatt has taught me that everybody can be going through something, and they could be hiding it. He was always in a good mood, even though he was going through so much. And some people can be going through something and still be in a good mood. We knew Wyatt was going through a hard time, and he still had a smile on his face. It just makes me think about the people going through stuff, and we don’t know, but they still come to school with a smile on their face. Just to treat everybody like they could be going through something we don’t know about. My favorite memory of Wyatt is definitely having him on the homecoming float this year. That was definitely something we wanted to do when we were planning it this year. It was just very fun, and he was making everybody laugh the whole time. When we were all piled up on the float coming home, he was just talking, and he was just making everybody laugh. I just want to add that, even though Wyatt isn’t around at school anymore, we need to remember that he would want everybody to be nice to each others there and we need to continue to his legacy and his vibe of saying hi to people you know in the hallway and making sure everyone you know is all right—just keeping this school a positive place to be.
