I first got to know Wyatt because I was in child development and parenting class with him. I had never met him before, but I was just like, “Who is this kid? He has so much energy and he’s so happy. Like, who is he? How have I never seen him before?” Then he sat next to m,e and he was always talking to me. He asked me to be his Valentine, asked me to be his Homecoming date. He was just always acknowledging me and putting a smile on my face. From then on, he would always say hi to me in the hallways. He would always talk to me. He was just very friendly to everybody and was somebody I wanted to be around. Positive, literally has the biggest heart of anybody I know. He would put anybody before himself, so selfless. Just happy. Genuinely happy person. He’s made me realize that even when you’re going through super hard stuff and life-changing things, there are always positive ways to look at things. Also, the impact he’s had on everybody else… It’s just heartwarming to know how big our community is when somebody just needs prayers. To just see everybody for who they are and to be kind to everybody and say hi to everybody, and to be like Wyatt. If you said, “Be like Wyatt” to somebody here in this building, they would know what you meant. There are so many. There’s a lot. One would definitely be him singing Jelly Roll in parenting class, in parenting and child development. He would sing with his earbuds in the entire class period, even if it was silent. We would look at him and just start laughing. He would be like, “What are you laughing at?” Just because we couldn’t hear the music, and it was just him singing. That and also whenever he came down during the homecoming pep rally, whenever he was thanking the junior class for everything. That was a good memory. Just his hugs, every time he hugged me, that was just the best. Also, just sporting events, like his school spirit, and how he just wanted to be super involved with everything. Those are my favorites for sure. That’s just a good person and everyone loves Wyatt and will miss him so much. He will be remembered here forever. He’s definitely from Herrin High School…
