The Herrin High School Tigers 4 Life Club is hosting a community diaper drive that will benefit local pregnancy centers. The most needed items are diapers (newborn to 5 years old), baby wipes, and baby formula.

Tigers 4 Life is a pro-life student organization at Herrin High School. Co-led by Sophomore, Braden Davis and Junior, Joella Brimm, the group meets monthly and has had up to 15 students participate in their meetings and activities. The group’s primary goals are to support, advocate, and provide resources for pregnant and parenting mothers.

I interviewed Braden Davis, the club president, and asked why Tigers 4 Life chose this specific fundraiser. Davis replied, “We were thinking of a community service project that we could do to help benefit women in need, and this idea stuck out to us.” Davis also stated that beyond just donating, he hopes that the diaper drive will help raise awareness of local needs in our community. An average family can spend between $200-$400 per month on these items, so any donation that is received will significantly help families throughout our area.

For anyone interested in donating, community members can drop off items from January 29th until February 2nd at Herrin City Hall. For any HHS students who wish to contribute, items can be taken to the HHS Library.  In addition to this, a table will be provided at the HHS boys’ home basketball game on January 30th.
