Auditions are done, production has begun

Everyone clear your schedules for the 28 and 29 of September and go see the school musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” at the Herrin Civic Center. With an incredible cast and crew, this show is bound to be one of director, Jene Simmons’ best yet! Auditions were held on the 28 and 29 of August. Some of the talented students involved in this production are Noah Blake as Charlie Brown, Alex Pinion as Peppermint Patty, Kylie Watkins and Rylie Patrick as Sally, and so many more outstanding students.

Mitchell Brandon, a junior that has always loved theatre, says he is very excited to get to bring the character Schroder to life. Brandon believes this piano playing character represents him well.

Many actors and crews have unique ways of getting ready for a show. Brandon explains one way they calm their nerves. It is typical to see the young actors joining hands in a “show circle” doing different exercises to relieve some before-show anxieties and then pray. When asked what his favorite part of this experience is, Brandon enthusiastically shared how much he loves the final dress rehearsal. With a reminiscent sigh, he explains how in this moment everything seems to just fall into place and that is when you can finally see just how perfect the show will be.

This show has such an outstanding cast and an amazing director, there’s no way it won’t be a success! Make sure you go support our actors and see the fall musical on the 28 or 29 of September. Good grief, you don’t want to miss it!
