The past week had the lady tigers of the tennis team chanting “rain, rain go away”, but that didn’t dampen their spirits going into the match against Marion at home on September 18th. The tigers dominated the wildcats with a 6 to 3 win, ironically the same score from the previous match against Marion.

Senior Reagan Ridgway won with a clean sweep against Marion’s Nicole Szidik at number one singles and sophomore Kelby Weber came out on top with a win at number three singles.

As the doubles matches started up, Ridgway and sophomore Jaylan Blake took the court at number one doubles; and despite losing the first set, they came back to win the match in a 10 point tie-breaker.

At number two doubles, senior Bryndle Burks and Weber dominated Marion with a 6-0, 6-0 win and the tigers went on to win at number three doubles also with senior Sophia Davie and sophomore Bre Nesler coming back in a tie-breaker.

The tiger tennis team prepares to take on Carmi-White County and Carbondale in the coming weeks and are more than ready to take them on in preparation for another hopeful sectional title win.
