Over this past season, the golf team has had many great achievements. One of these has been the honor of receiving The Best Sportsmanship Award from IHSA.

The deciding committee is composed of sportsmanship committee members, IHSA staff members, and other tournament personnel. These officials collaborate to focus on a single team to give praise for their efforts. This team is decided at the state tournament for all team sports. The Illinois High School Association for Golf decided to give this high ranking award to the HHS Golf Team to show that the athletes have presented good personality, ideal sportsmanship, and politeness to every other competitor. The committee determines who gets this award by grading their coaches, players, and fans.

Upon this, it not only comes with a great sensation to the athletes, but to the coaches as well. It speaks very highly about how our teams, and community have an exemplary attitude. All athletes, clubs, and students should have this as their standard attitude and goal. Most teams care only about getting a first place trophy, when this award means more than any first place you could ever get. The students can be recognized for their manners to all, and the coaches are able to show a great reflection of their own teachings.  

The boys are girls teams are ecstatic to be given this. It makes everyone want to continue their careers in golf and to have another amazing season next year!
