Just Peachy makes me Peachy!

Article, Faith Borum, Newspaper Editor, Writer

Let’s be honest, make up fanatics love opening a new shadow palette full of amazing soft, matte, and metallic shades.

Opening a palette and looking at the satisfyingly smooth color that has not been touched and determining what new combo to try with the shades… *sigh & daydreaming face

However, not all eye shadow palettes are the same.  There are high quality palettes, decent palettes and then there’s… well the not so good.

Today we are going to discuss the high quality palettes, because these are ultimately the better overall color pigment and ingredients. The problem is these palettes can be expensive. That’s why I wanted to share some input and tips so the next time you enter Ulta or Sephora you’ll have more of an idea if its actually worth your money.

Recently the makeup brand, Too Faced, released a palette called “Just Peachy Mattes.” This palette is definitely peachy and cute.  When you first open the packaging the outside of the palette is an ombre of peachy colors with gold lettering and looks adorable on a vanity.  The inside of the palette has a decently large mirror for a palette. This mirror is also high quality, not the cheap plastic mirror that comes in some palettes; Ulta brand,  I’m talking about you. The palette is part of the “Too Faced Peaches and Creme Collection” and smells like peaches.  Not only does the palette smell wonderful but it’s also the first matte palette in the collection. The palette has a variety of peachy colors from lighter colors that are more nude for the girl who likes to keep it more natural to darker colors like “Peach Tea” that are a darker brown color for the girl that wants to create the eye drama.  This palette truly has a shade for everyone.  The only hiccup is with its pigment. While it is soft and is easily applied texture-wise, the colors do not pop and last without a good eye primer. However, it is no where near enough to discourage one from buying.

I would give this peachy palette 8 peaches out of 10 and would totally recommend it.
