Tiger Tea Week #8

Spring Break Time!

Tiger Tea Week #8

Spring break just ended at Herrin High. Unfortunately for students, it’s time to get back to the real world. Even though school has started back up, let’s recap spring break so we don’t lose sight of it just yet. About 76% of students who responded to the spring break survey didn’t travel over break. Of the students who did, many traveled to St. Louis, Tennessee, Missouri, and Kentucky. Students shopped, attended concerts such as Billie Eilish and Conan Gray, went to beaches, and toured colleges.

On the other hand, some students did not travel. Students who didn’t travel spent their break working, sleeping, playing video games, and hanging out with friends. A few even celebrated birthdays.

Since the addition of fall break, students within the Herrin district get a break after every quarter. Personally, I think that it was a very smart decision and that breaks help other students and myself have a chance to recharge. About 98% of the students who responded to the survey agree with me, saying they like having breaks.

Some students do think that they shouldn’t have to complete assignments during spring break. They say that it “did not feel like much of a break because I had assignments during it.” I didn’t have any homework to complete during the break but I understand why the students feel this way. If I did have homework, I would probably agree and say that we shouldn’t have homework over any of the breaks.
