Sugar, spice, and nothing but spikes! The Lady Tigers Volleyball team is starting out with a successful season. Last year’s 17 winning games were proven to be a good luck charm for the 2019- 2020 River to River season.

The ladies’ first game was played on August 29 against Shawnee. The Shawnee teams seemed to put up a good fight but sadly our Tigers didn’t come home without that “W”. Both JV and Varsity won their matches. Since then, they have played in the River to River preview, in a tournament in Carterville, against Massac County on Sep. 5, and in the DuQuoin invite. They also played Anna-Jonesboro on September 10, 2019.

At our most recent home game, our girls suffered a hard loss in a match against their opponents. The girls were upset over a loss from Massac County, but that won’t stop them. They will keep on pushing and fighting to have a great winning season.

At the Massac game, though ultimately a loss, the girls played hard and gave a strong fight. Bianca Hudson of the senior class got a few good “kills” in, and Presli Karnes played aggressive.

At the Anna-Jonesboro game, Our lady tigers won two out of three games. 25 to 10 being the highest score.

Everyone should come out and support the girls at the next Volleyball match at home playing against Carbondale on the 12 at 7:00pm.
