IMEA Auditions took place on Monday, October 9th.

A group of eight students traveled over two hours early in the morning to reach their destination. Mr. J.T. Lewis, the band director, drove the white bus and supported the students through their nervous wait for auditions.

One of the three band students, senior, Kennedy Pasley (seen above) passed her audition with flying colors and will take her place with the oboe in the district band. Kennedy is the first student to make a seat in the district band in three years.

Three of five choir students that auditioned, senior, Alyssa Wyatt, freshmen, Noah Blake & Austin Shadowens will take their place in the district choir.

The district festival will take place November 18th, where students from all over Illinois will join together in order to rehearse for their concert.

It is a high honor to get into the district choir and district band. These students will spend much of their time preparing for their big showcase.
