In the Fall of 1990 ABC aired a miniseries based on Stephen King’s book IT.  The story was about an evil entity that took the form of Pennywise the clown.  Every 27 years “IT” would wake up to feed on the fear and flesh of children in the small town of Derry, Maine.  Today in 2017 “IT” has slept for 27 years since the airing of the ABC miniseries and “IT” has come back to strike fear into all of us.

The movie is actually titled IT: Chapter One but also goes by the name of IT: Chapter One- The Losers Club.  The movie focuses on the children’s struggle against Pennywise in the nostalgic year of 1989.  The movie is filled with fear inducing scares and a terrifying survival story of the Loser’s Club.  Bill Skarsgard took on the role of Pennywise in this adaptation.  His Pennywise is a refreshing revival of the terrifying clown.  The movie, with a budget of 35 million dollars, brought in 179.2 million in its first week.  Overall, this was a fantastic movie that has recreated fear for a new generation.

The sequel is set to hit theaters late 2019 with an adult version of the Loser’s Club set in current day Derry, Maine.

I give this movie 10 paper boats out of 10.
