After a rough start to the season and losing four seniors, the ladies of the Tiger tennis team fought hard for the Herrin Invitational title for the second year in a row. Singles players Reagan Ridgway(11) and Katie Davis (11) both placed first in #1 and #2 singles, meanwhile doubles teams Bryndle Burks(11) and Kelby Weber(9) placed second in #2 doubles alongside Jaylan Blake(9) and Bre Nesler(9) who placed second as well in #3 doubles. The team also played in the Mt. Vernon Doubles Invitational on September 23rd and placed 2nd overall with Reagan Ridgway and Katie Davis dominating in #1 doubles, placing 1st.

The girls prepare to compete at sectionals after regular season matches against Fairfield on September 25th, defeating them 9-0, and against Carmi on September 26th, losing a tough match 3-6. Tiger Tennis plans to defend their sectional title this year on October 14th and 15th. Sectionals will be hosted by the Herrin Tigers with a current line up of Reagan Ridgway and Katie Davis in singles and doubles partners Bryndle Burks and Kelby Weber, and Jaylan Blake and Bre Nesler. Hopes are high as the girls prepare to fight for the title once more.
