The tigers played their last basketball game on Friday. The tigers versus the carterville lions. Although the game was held at carterville the Herrin fans showed up to show their support. With a loss early on in the night with our JV team many Herrin fans were a bit nervous. The tigers started out strong and had a strong lead in the first quarter. As the second quarter came to an end the Lions caught up to their guest. After the half the boys came back refreshed and ready to hopefully win. The fans were getting into the game as it became a close one after every basket. Players Drew Ringel (junior), Hayden Holloway (junior), Brandon Anthony (soph.) showed their skills on offense and defense. Bringing their teams extra points especially in free throws and 2 pointers. As the third ended the Lions were close behind the tigers and the Herrin boys looked a little worn out but, as the fourth quarter starter something switched on. The boys fought and brought home a win of 56-50 to Herrin. The game was a close one with a great show of skill and finesse.
